Grading of Seniors/Veterans Tournaments for the Tennis Ireland Irish Seniors/Veterans Player Ranking System:  Criteria

  1. Tournament Title: Importance of the Title; National titles are most important followed by Provincial Titles and then Regional Titles etc. Maximum Marks 35

  2. History & Tradition: How long has the Tournament being run? What has it's standing been to date within tennis in Ireland and on the Veterans calendar? For instance where have players traditionally traveled from to the event? Maximum Marks 20

  3. Types of Categories held: Higher Ranked Tournaments must at least include events in Singles & Doubles at the following categories: over 35, 45, 55, 65.  Maximum Marks 15

  4. Organisation & Promotion: What is the quality of Tournament organisation, resources provided by the club and general promotion of the event.  Maximum Marks 15

  5. Tournament Facilities: What are the quality of the facilities for the Tournament including spectator viewing available for the event? Are all matches at one venue? How many courts are available?  Maximum Marks 10

  6. Playing Surface: What Surface is the Tournament to be played on? Internationally Clay is the most important Surface followed by Hard court and then Grass etc.  Maximum Marks 5
