introducing "tennis ireland clubmark"

Tennis Ireland Clubmark is the Club Accreditation Programme of the National Governing Body.  The programme is accredited at three levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and aims to identify, develop, accredit and recognise high quality tennis clubs and their contribution to the development of our sport in Ireland.

Tennis Clubs can achieve the Tennis Ireland Clubmark accredited status by meeting the operating standards appropriate to the levels in the areas of effective organization, management, safety, child welfare, risk management, equality and inclusion, organized play and scoring, competition, coaching, player development, outreach programmes, communication and public relations.

Some benefits of achieving the criteria set out in the programme include :

  • Listed on the Tennis Ireland Website as a Tennis Ireland Clubmark Accredited Club
  • A framed certificate for Bronze and Silver
  • Wall plaque for the Gold Award to say your club has achieved the Clubmark

There’s also the opportunity for the personal development of club volunteers and personnel with the potential to increase and maintain the club’s membership.

The Tennis Ireland Clubmark is designed to provide clubs with the resources to develop a Club Development Strategy that will :

  • Assist the club management to organise for success
  • Continue to develop programmes that will satisfy the needs of all members
  • Attract new club members whilst retaining current members
  • Guarantee a ‘quality standard’ in specific areas of your club

The programme will allow interested parties, including prospective club members, to identify clubs that have achieved a recognised standard of quality in the areas of :

  • Organization and management
  • Safety, child welfare, risk management, equality and inclusion
  • Organized play and scoring, competition, coaching and player development
  • Outreach programmes
  • Communication and public relations

Achieving Clubmark signals that your club provides a quality sporting experience, open to all and delivered in a safe environment, administered by an effective and efficient committee.  Accreditation will be awarded, and arrangements made for presentation of certificate/plaque with annual health checks and future accreditations every three years.
