LIZ CLIFFORD : regional development officerLiz started playing tennis at the age of seven in Hillview Tennis Club in Tipperary and has played throughout her life, joining Lower Aghada Tennis Club when she moved to County Cork.
Following a BSc in Sport Science & Geography in St. Mary’s University College, Twickenham, England, Liz worked in a school for a number of years in a wide range of roles, from PE teacher to learning support teacher to Special Needs Assistant, whilst always coaching hockey and athletics. Liz's main roles as Regional Development Officer for Munster include : SAFEGUARDING - ensuring completion of the Sport Ireland self-assessment and supporting clubs in becoming fully compliant CLUBMARK - helping clubs achieve at their chosen level, meeting with the clubs to answer any questions, go through questionnaire and requirements and support in areas they need to work on AFFILIATION - work with all clubs in the province to promote the benefits of affiliation CLUB DEVELOPMENT - assist in any other areas of club development, including offering workshops / webinars individually and with the development team, hosting leaders course, promote youth / teen tennis beyond competition, strategy development, as well as the day-to-day queries that arise from all clubs and stakeholders ENJOY TENNIS - engage with new clubs / coaches / service providers to get Enjoy Tennis groups active in clubs plus support existing clubs to sustain and grow their groups Should you or your club have any interest in the above areas, please feel most welcome to get in touch with Liz via the details below. |
